Farewell?

Are you familiar with the feeling of not knowing what's your place in the world, where's your way to go? Well, I am. As all adolescence and young adults I am trying to find my limits and possibilities in any kind of way, and I like to think about this writing task as a kind of self-awareness project.

And this is really helped me. To write out what happened to me is a real therapy. Before that, I've never tried doing this kind of activities, and now I realized how great this could be, almost like writing your own diary, but in a different way for a bigger audience ( If there's any audience :).

So, It seems to be a long time since I've started to write this blog. The time passed especially quickly. I've raised several topics from my first time difficulties to this goodbye post. I've really enjoyed doing these posts, because I hope in this way I could not only improve my writing skills, but you also get to know me better.

What is more, I could read what my classmates had written, and their posts were really surprising, funny or just raised my interest. I could learn a lot from them about my mates’ ways of thinking and attitudes toward the world. I hope some of them will continue doing the blog because I am keen on reading them.

Best wishes!

Murder will out

I've read a book written by Agatha Christie for the free voluntary reading project. Its title was: And Then There Were None. This was one of the best I have ever read. It contained a lot of mystery, excitement, thrill and unexpected turns.

The plot was extremely well-developed; nobody could turn out who was the murderer. The story starts with an introduction of eight different people, but one thing is common; they have the same destination called Soldier Island. However, when they arrive at that mysterious island, they cannot find their hosts, but the old butlers Mrs. and Mr. Rogers. What is more, other strange things appeared, there is a nursery rhyme on the wall about ten little soldiers who all die successively, and there are ten small, head-shaped sculptures on the table. Then after all, they all die in the same way as it was written in the poem.

Who was the killer? It was obvious that only one of them could have done it. Finally, we got to know, that it was Justice Wargrave (even his name is strange, isn't it?), the lunatic judge, who have arranged all of the murders including his own.

 The "Andless" Story

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the theater with my friends. However, it was not a usual one, it was a play, the Animal Farm from George Orwell, but performed by addicts. In my hometown, Komló, there is a famous institution, called Leo Amici, for these kind of people. So this performance was the part of their quitting process. For me, seeing these people was very moving, because when they act, they were so talented. They remade the play with the sense of humor and a lot of irony.
After the play we could talk with the members of Leo Amici. All of them told us how they suffered from alcohol or drug addiction. In the end, they also mentioned that, despite they had been over a long journey in this place, they have to work hard every day in order to be a full member of our society again, and this is an endless story for them. Finally, I realized how good persons they are! I hope them the best!

"In practice the ideal image transmitted by media is in fact overly distorted."

I've read this sentence in Katie’s blog (http://drawlife-katie.blogspot.com/), and it has really drawn my attention, because I perfectly agree with her. When I turn the TV on, nothing else can be seen, but beautiful, charming ladies with fancy dresses, who are happily smiling into the camera, if only just this could be the normal standard.

This is really surprising, because in fact, these ladies may feel themselves exactly different. They have to go on strict and cruel diets in order to preserve their good-looking body, and this is what hard to be noticed for an inexperienced teenager. If you ask children who they idolize or who their role models are, they will most likely answer with their favorite skinny models and actress. Why is society allowing this to continue? This isn't healthy.

The result of this bad influence is, that more and more young girl would like to be extraordinarily thin, and in the worst cases they ends up in the hospital with anorexia or bulimia. I think that health is more important than following the latest trends and the media should take this under consideration too, before they broadcast programs with wispy girls.

Think about it! What comes next?

This post will be based on a 9gag-photo (http://9gag.com/gag/3650448 ), which I’ve found really interesting and worth thinking about it. This is a really creative caricature of the great destruction of our modern society.
Since the population has increased more and more people have the desire to destroy the nature and build houses instead of the trees and plants. If we continue like this, probably there will be no future for the next generation.

I know this is trivial, and we have heard about it so many times before, but it's still a problem what need to be solved. Even a few years ago, I couldn't imagine, that the forecasts what have been made by scientists and experts will come true. But now, like a shot, the climate has changed; once it's raining cats and dogs, once we can't bear the hot. What is more, animals lost their natural habitats, and in the worst cases it can cause deforestation which is irreversible.

So what can we do to protect our nature? In my opinion, first we should utilize what we have and stop tearing down the environment mindlessly in order to build new skyscrapers or factories because of the big company’s self-interest. Of course, there are other things to do, for instance we can plant new flowers and trees, but it is almost impossible to stop this process, we could just pray for the Earth to survive as long as we live here.

Something New

I really like, when I have the opportunity to meet people in a new way, when something surprising comes to light about their personality. For example, a person who is considered to be a strong and brave sportsman is keen on painting or listening to classical music.

So that's why, I would like to share my interesting desire or dream. I’ve seen a lot of movies and also read some books about Buddhism and its beliefs and I am impressed by their way of thinking and peaceful attitude toward the world. I didn't study deeply its principles and rules, but I was more interested in their lifestyle and meditation methods. Thus, when I've first seen a documentary film on this topic, where a beautiful quiet atmosphere could have been seen, with melancholy mountains and monasteries which transmitted endless calm... well, I was fascinated. And sometimes, when the cup is filled, and I really get rid of our modern material world I would like to be that place and dip power from that pure environment and atmosphere.

In order to get closer to this mystic East culture I started to learn breathing techniques and basic exercises from yoga. I 'm pretty amateur yet, but I hope I will be able to improve my skills and once go to Tibet.

  Freshman's Ball

I've been always dreaming about a huge and fascinating ball, (like in the Disney cartoons) with lots of people dancing in a big tarnished room, who are dressed up in beautiful charming clothes.

However, my dreams seemed to be shattered, when I got cold and had a flue, and due to my prolonged illness, I felt that horrible feeling of missing something what I really want.
But, I decided not to give up, and determined to fulfill my desire... So, I drank a lot of tea, and arranged every important thing in time. Fortunately, I started to feel myself better, and I was able to go to the prom.
Then, the big day came, and I was full of excitement and happiness. I went to the hairdresser, than run to the beautician and I met my friend Dóri and her dad took us to the ball.  I've been that place once, and it was like as I remembered. The night started pretty well, despite there were only a few people there at 11 pm... However, after a while, I started to get bored because nothing impressing had happened so far...
Honestly, when I actually realized, that it really could not be as it was in my dreams, I had the bitter mixture of disappointment and sadness.

But, that was the point when the unexpected turn of events occurred. Somebody (I don't want to share his or her name.) came around, and asked me to take a photograph with him or her, because his/her hobby is taking pics with lookalikes.
I had absolutely no idea what kind of  'alter ego' I might be, but he/she initiated me that I look like a Brazilian football player's wife...I could not decide whether it's a compliment or a joke, however it was rather funny than shocking. So I talked a lot with that person, and he/she was really interesting and I also got to know a lot of other people.

After all, the prom wasn't like as I expected it to be, but it was more like good experience and amusing as well.
I hope  I will have at least one more opportunity to take part in an event like this... and until this:

Cheers,
